Outback Regional Youth Bursary is an initiative of the Outback Regional Gallery in 2009, to encourage the youth of the region in their arts development and growth. It is a yearly event, with a selection panel from arts organisations from within the region, to assess applications from the youth of the region. They will be able to apply for a variety of projects, including being able to attend workshops to enhance their skills.
A most successful auction of donated artworks was held at the Generation Next Exhibition opening dinner and fashion parade on November 14. Artist donors included Heidi Balderson, Elizabeth Clark, Mary Grinstead, Rob McQueen, Kyle Warren, Christine Watson, Lynelle Westlake, Sash Whitehead and Cindy Wider. Under the capable hand of auctioneer Bill O'Brien, and with assistance from volunteer David Manning, dinner guests were encouraged to support the youth of the region. The auction proceeds will fund the initial year of the bursary, with applications to be called in the New Year. Watch the website for further details!
