Future Workshops A 2 Day Sculpture Workshop with Michael Snape - Saturday/Sunday 18th & 19th May 2013The Outback Regional Gallery will host a two day workshop with Michael Snape, a dedicated and highly respected sculptural artist. Michael has been a practicing artist for the last 40 years, making sculpture for exhibition, private commissions and public works. “My practice as a sculptor is characterised by an intuitive and playful response to site and context, which incorporates elements including landscape, architecture, vista and feeling.I believe the power of the artist is significant in establishing and clarifying who we are and how we see, in the world.” This workshop will be run in conjunction with the John Villiers Waltzing Matilda Outback Art Show, which runs from the 13th May to the 11th July 2013. Photographic workshop with Robyn Hills - Saturday/Sunday 21st & 22nd September 2013The annual Australia wide, BHP Billiton Cannington Waltzing Matilda Photographic Competition & Exhibition, will be on display in the Outback Regional Gallery from 16 September to 14 November 2013. The judge Robyn Hills, a professional Australian photographer, will lead a two day workshop on 21 & 22 September 2013.

The Judge, Ian Wilkinson, led a two day workshop on 15 & 16 September 2012. Watercolour and Mixed Media WorkshopThe annual national John Villiers Waltzing Matilda Outback Art Show was held in the Outback Regional Gallery from 30 April to 22 June 2012. Judge and artist, John Lovett, held a two day Watercolour and Mixed Media workshop on 5/6 May 2012. Photographic Workshop The annual Australia wide, BHP Billiton Cannington Waltzing Matilda Photographic Competition and Exhibition, is on display in the Outback Regional Gallery from 15 August to 11 November. The judge, Peter Eastway, an internationally known landscape photographer and publisher, led a two day workshop on 17 & 18 September 2011. Mixed Media and Collage WorkshopThe annual national Woollam Waltzing Matilda Outback Art Show was held in the Outback Regional Gallery from 2 May to 24 June 2011. Judge and artist, Metka Skrobar, held a two day mixed media workshop on 7/8 May 2011.
Silver Smithing WorkshopJudge for Generation Next Regional Youth Competition & Exhibition, Nick Murray, held a two day silver smithing workshop on 27/28 November 2010, attended by 14 intermediate and beginner students. Shibori WorkshopShibori: the Japanese word that encompasses all the ‘Tie dye’ techniques. The workshop concentrated on providing attendees with the basics of Shibori techniques. The tutor was Margaret Barnett, who provided the workshop as an accompaniment to her exhibition Shibori Unbound, on display in the Outback Regional Gallery. The workshop was held on the 24th July, 2010. Photographic WorkshopThe annual Australia wide, BHP Billiton Cannington Waltzing Matilda Photographic Competition & Exhibition, was on display in the Outback Regional Gallery from 13 September to 19 November 2010. The judge, Nick Rains, a professional international photographer, lead a two day workshop on 18 & 19 September 2010. Multi-Media WorkshopPreviously a watercolour workshop. The annual national Woollam Waltzing Matilda Outback Art Show was held in the Outback Regional Gallery from 10 May to 16 July 2010. Judge and artist, Shirley Charlton, held a two day multi-media workshop on 15/16 May 2010. Tony Walker Workshop - Watercolour and watercolour acrylic on paperExplore watercolour and also combined watercolour/acrylic on paper techniques with Tony Walker, winner of 2009 Mitchell Landmark watercolour prize. Tony will provide instruction in a free and expressive approach to landscape painting for artists of all levels from beginner to advanced. This is two-way communication, with attention to those aspects that the group are most interested in. This workshop will be held on the 21st February. Cost for the workshop is $55. There will also be an Artist's Floor Talk in the Gallery at 4.30pm on 21st February. Generation Next WorkshopGeneration Next is a regional youth competition and exhibition, hosted by the Gallery, for young people between the ages of 15 - 25 years. Judge Brian Tucker, arts patron and accountant, held a workshop on making money from your artworks and keeping good records, on 14 November 2009. Photography WorkshopThe annual Australia wide, BHP Billiton Cannington Waltzing Matilda Photographic Competition & Exhibition, was hosted in the Outback Regional Gallery from 7 September to 6 November 2009. The judge, David Oliver, a photographer from Sydney, conducted a two day workshop on 12 & 13 September 2009. Artist DemonstrationLocal regional artist, Joanne Warren held an exhibition titled Working with leather in the Gallery foyer from 17 July to 4 September 2009. During this time Joanne was in the foyer giving demonstrations of her leather work at selected times. Painting WorkshopOutback Spirit Ergon Energy Waltzing Matilda Art Show 2009, curated by the Outback Regional Gallery. This year's judge of this national competition and exhibition, Dr. Anneke Silver, conducted a two day painting workshop on the 2 & 3 May.
