Photographic Workshop

The annual Australia wide, BHP Billiton Cannington Waltzing Matilda Photographic Competition & Exhibition, will be on display in the Outback Regional Gallery from 13 September to 19 November 2010.

The judge, Nick Rains, a professional international photographer, will lead a two day workshop on 18 & 19 September 2010.

Shibori Workshop

Shibori: the Japanese word that encompasses all the ‘Tie dye’ techniques. The workshop concentrated on providing attendees with the basics of Shibori techniques.

The tutor was Margaret Barnett, who provided the workshop as an accompaniment to her exhibition Shibori Unbound, on display in the Outback Regional Gallery. The workshop was held on the 24th July, 2010.

Multi-Media Workshop

Previously a watercolour workshop.

The annual national Woollam Waltzing Matilda Outback Art Show was held in the Outback Regional Gallery from 10 May to 16 July 2010.  Judge and artist, Shirley Charlton, held a two day multi-media workshop on 15/16 May 2010.

Tony Walker Workshop - Watercolour and watercolour acrylic on paper

Explore watercolour and also combined watercolour/acrylic on paper techniques with Tony Walker, winner of 2009 Mitchell Landmark watercolour prize. Tony will provide instruction in a free and expressive approach to landscape painting for artists of all levels from beginner to advanced. This is two-way communication, with attention to those aspects that the group are most interested in. This workshop will be held on the 21st February. Cost for the workshop is $55.

There will also be an Artist's Floor Talk in the Gallery at 4.30pm on 21st February.

Generation Next Workshop

Generation Next is a regional youth competition and exhibition, hosted by the Gallery, for young people between the ages of 15 - 25 years. Judge Brian Tucker, arts patron and accountant, held a workshop on making money from your artworks and keeping good records, on 14 November 2009.

Photography Workshop

The annual Australia wide, BHP Billiton Cannington Waltzing Matilda Photographic Competition & Exhibition, was hosted in the Outback Regional Gallery from 7 September to 6 November 2009.

The judge, David Oliver, a photographer from Sydney, conducted a two day workshop on 12 & 13 September 2009.

Artist Demonstration

Local regional artist, Joanne Warren held an exhibition titled Working with leather in the Gallery foyer from 17 July to 4 September 2009. During this time Joanne was in the foyer giving demonstrations of her leather work at selected times.

Painting Workshop

Outback Spirit Ergon Energy Waltzing Matilda Art Show 2009, curated by the Outback Regional Gallery. This year's judge of this national competition and exhibition, Dr. Anneke Silver, conducted a two day painting workshop on the 2 & 3 May.
